Briarwood Elementary School, bottom right in Oklahoma City, Okla. before and after the tornado hit on May 20.
This before-and-after comparison lays bare the force of the tornado, evoking strongly the sights and memories from the 2011 catastrophe in Joplin, Missouri. Our thoughts as always are with the victims — in case you missed it, the death toll in Oklahoma was revised downward from 51 yesterday to just 24 today, a measure of mercy in the face of this tragedy.

in grade 8 i did a power point presentation on “whooping cough” and my opening slide was a photo of whoopi goldberg coughing and i was the only person who laughed at it and i couldnt start the presentation for like five minutes because i was laughing too hard at my own joke

The wind blew my (heavy) stairs away from my trailer, and a couple chairs and plants out into the field, after I got an emergency text msg saying there was a tornado warning and to take shelter. Isabella and I hid in the bathtub with couch cushions just in case. Now there is massive lightning. Earlier there was hail. Enough to leave little dents on the hood of my car. Mother Nature is on a roll today!
